Player Value Score
A Transparent Way to Measure Your Contribution
Every Vanilla Poker Cash Game player will automatically receive a Player Value Score (PVS) once sufficient gameplay data has been collected.
PVS is designed to reflect your long-term contribution to the poker ecosystem. To ensure a fair and accurate evaluation, the system first gathers enough information about your playing style, table contribution, game selection, integrity, and overall gameplay patterns.
Once sufficient data is available, your PVS will be assigned automatically and updated continuously as you continue to play.
Player Value Score (PVS) affects only your rakeback.
It does not affect:
- Your gameplay
- Your winnings or losses
- The games you can play
- Your table selection
- Your opponents
PVS is used exclusively to determine how much of your Cash Game rake is recognized for the purpose of calculating rakeback.
Your actual rake never changes. Instead, your Recognized Rake is adjusted based on your Player Value Score.
Example
| Actual Cash Game Rake | $1,000 |
| Player Value Score | 80 |
| Player Value Multiplier | 80% |
| Recognized Rake | $800 |
Your rakeback is calculated using your Recognized Rake, not your actual rake.
Why Does PVS Exist?
At Vanilla Poker, we believe that a healthy poker ecosystem benefits every player.
When games remain active and balanced:
- Recreational players enjoy a better experience.
- More tables stay open.
- Games last longer.
- The entire poker ecosystem becomes more sustainable.
To encourage these positive behaviors, we created the Player Value Score (PVS).
Unlike hidden systems used by many poker sites, PVS is based on clear and transparent principles. Every player knows what is measured, why it matters, and how to improve their score.
How PVS Works
Every Cash Game player receives a Player Value Score between 0 and 100. The score is calculated using your activity over the previous 90 days and is updated continuously.
PVS consists of five categories.
| Category | Maximum Points |
|---|---|
| Ecology Score | 40 |
| Table Contribution | 25 |
| Game Selection | 20 |
| Playing Style | 10 |
| Integrity | 5 |
| Maximum Score: 100 Points | |

1. Ecology Score — Maximum: 40 Points
Ecology Score measures the relationship between your Cash Game winnings and the rake you generate. Players who contribute more to the long-term sustainability of the games receive a higher score, while players who consistently extract significantly more value than they contribute receive a lower score. This category carries the greatest weight because it reflects the overall health of the poker ecosystem.
-
2. Table Contribution — Maximum: 25 Points
Poker needs players who help create action. This category rewards players who contribute to healthy game availability by:
- Opening new tables
- Helping games get started
- Keeping tables active
- Supporting overall game liquidity
- Playing during quieter hours
-
3. Game Selection — Maximum: 20 Points
Healthy poker requires balanced competition. This category rewards players who:
- Play against a wide variety of opponents
- Avoid excessive table selection
- Avoid predatory behavior
- Contribute to balanced and enjoyable games
The goal is not to prevent smart game selection, but to encourage healthy participation across the network.
-
4. Playing Style — Maximum: 10 Points
Playing Style evaluates long-term poker statistics to better understand how a player's style contributes to overall game quality. Examples include:
- VPIP
- PFR
- WTSD
- W$SD
- Fold to 3-Bet
No single statistic determines your score on its own. The evaluation considers your overall playing profile.
-
5. Integrity — Maximum: 5 Points
Integrity rewards fair play. Players who follow our rules and maintain good standing receive the maximum score. Security violations may reduce or completely remove these points. Examples include:
- Collusion
- Botting
- Multi-accounting
- Chip dumping
- Abuse of promotions
- Violations of our Fair Play & Security Policies
Player Value Multiplier (PVM)
Your Player Value Score (PVS) directly determines your Player Value Multiplier (PVM). The relationship is simple and completely transparent.
If your PVS is 85, your PVM is 85%. If your PVS is 60, your PVM is 60%.
Your Recognized Rake is calculated by multiplying your Actual Cash Game Rake by your Player Value Multiplier. The higher your PVS, the more rake is recognized when calculating your rakeback.
How Can I Improve My PVS?
Improving your Player Value Score isn't about playing more hands. It's about contributing positively to the games and helping build a healthy poker ecosystem.
You can improve your PVS by:
- Opening new tables and helping games get started
- Keeping tables active and contributing to ongoing game action
- Playing against a wider variety of opponents
- Supporting overall game liquidity, including during quieter hours
- Following our Fair Play & Security Policies
- Maintaining excellent account integrity
PVS Review Request

If you have any questions about your PVS or would like to better understand how your score was determined, you can request a personal PVS review at any time.
Simply send an email to pvs@vanilla.poker including your nickname and a brief description of your request.

Please note that, for security reasons, we may not disclose every internal calculation or detection method used by our Integrity & Security systems.
Our goal is to ensure that every player understands how the PVS system works and has access to clear, transparent information about their overall evaluation.
